After filling her sketchbook with Italy Wendy has been addressing a new challenge....A commission from The Arts Centre Melbourne. As part of the exhibition 'In The Wings' Wendy says "I drew the rehearsals and back stage views of Graham Murphy's new version of The Firebird".

In The Wings runs until 20th Sept. 2009 in Melbourne, then goes to Shepparton Art Gallery 21st Nov. 2009 to 17th Jan. 2010, and on to Hamilton Art Gallery 3rd March to 11th April 2010.

This highly unusal two person show features work from Wendy Sharpe and Bernard Ollis, drawn from the extensive travels they have made together. Both have an acute passion for travel. Orange was the first Australian public gallery to aquire a work by Wendy (self portrait, Lamplight 1990). The Falls Gallery, a beautifully restored weatherboard cottage, set in a shady garden, is on the road to the Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains.

The Falls Gallery is run by the owners Ian and Anne Smith who have an extesive display of smaller works and etchings by Wendy Sharpe.
